Where healing is an adventure

“Behold, you desire truth in the inward parts, and in the hidden part you will make me known to wisdom” ~ Psalm 51:6
A long time ago I was told, “It’s not about what’s wrong with us, it’s about what’s happened to us.” It’s also about how we respond to things that happen to us. This little phrase changed the direction of my entire life. Through outstanding therapy, I learned that how we have responded to events and interactions in our past has a direct impact on our actions, reactions, thoughts, feelings, behaviors, and relationships in present time. My own healing has led me to become passionate about helping others. I desire for all people to become their best self and live their best life by helping them discover the hidden parts of themselves that lead them to their own personal wisdom.
As a therapist I help people learn the “why.” Why do we think, feel, respond, and behave the way we do? I help people overcome the negative thinking and behavior patterns that do not serve them well, while also identifying the insights and strengths that have helped navigate life. By better understanding the “what happened” I can help hurting people heal from depression, anxiety, trauma, addiction, PTSD, personality and behavior disorders, relationship issues, and even severe mental health diagnosis.
I use integrated methods of proven therapeutic models including CBT, DBT, IFS, EMDR, Brain Spotting, Somatic Healing, Psychodrama, and Experiential Therapy. I include creativity to provide “an experience” beyond traditional talk therapy. I offer adventure therapy in the beautiful wilderness of the Black Hills, allowing clients to fully embody the healing experience of nature. Depending on the season I offer, skiing, hiking, boating, biking, or a scenic ride on a side by side.
I offer traditional one hour sessions, telehealth, or full day intensives.
